body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Edwards Street in the 300-400 block to determine the need to impose parking restrictions.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 132918 expressing concern about two-way traffic congestion on Edwards Street when there are cars parked on both sides of the roadway.
DISCUSSION:
Edwards Street is only 25-ft in width, smaller than the city standard. The roadway has fresh curb and gutter, as well as new paving. All of Edwards Street outside this area has One Side of Street Only parking restrictions. Two-way traffic must pass cautiously even with these parking restrictions, and two-way traffic is effectively impossible when cars are parked on both sides.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations will be responsible for the installation of the signage.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installation of NO PARKING THIS SIDE signage for the north side of Edwards Street from N. Lincoln Avenue to High Street.
