PURPOSE:
A Traffic Study for Laurel Drive near Richard and Robert Streets to determine if additional stop signs are warranted, for both intersections.
BACKGROUND:
A resident submitted PS # 2794574 requesting stop signs for Laurel Drive at the intersections of Richard and Robert Streets.
DISCUSSION:
All three roadways measure the regular 29.5-ft in width. All three are classified as residential roadways, with a speed limit of 25 mph. There is a northbound 25 mph speed limit sign at the intersection of Laurel Drive and Robert Street. Both cross streets are residential with low volumes. Laurel Drive measured 900 ADT, with an average speed of 25 mph. Additional stop signs are not warranted based on traffic volumes and crash history (no reported crashes at either intersection in the last 3 years).
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact based on staff recommendation.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends maintaining the existing traffic control, at both intersections.
