KJ Multisport Duathalon Run/Walk Segment on Barnes Road Between Galena Blvd and Prairie Street and Bike Segment on Various Far West Roads, Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 7:00am to 10:00am.

PURPOSE:
KJ Multisport is requesting permission to hold a duathalon to raise money to help the Fox Valley Park District Blackberry Farms low income program.
BACKGROUND:
KJ Multisport has held this proposed event for the past 3 years and 165 people participated in 2015. Except for the first year when Galena Blvd was one of the streets used for the bike segment, most of the route has consisted of trails and roads.
DISCUSSION:
KJ Multisport is expecting 180 people to participate this year in this proposed event and 20 staff/volunteers to help. The Kane County Sheriff's Office will assisting with the event too. KJ Multisport is responsible for all costs associated with holding this proposed event.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Services will be needed from the Aurora Police Department Traffic Control Division for the run/walk segment on Barnes Road.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Please forward to the Government Operations Committee for approval.
