Requesting approval for the issuance of a Circus License to Kelly Miller Circus for a circus to be held at the Fox Valley Shopping Center on September 19 - 23, 2018

PURPOSE:
Kelly Miller Circus have applied for a Circus license to be held at the Fox Valley Shopping Center parking lot on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Friday, September 21, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.;

BACKGROUND:
Kelly Miller Circus started in 1938 by Obert Miller and his sons, Kelly and Dory, the Al G. Kelly Miller Brothers Circus, now known simply as Kelly Miller, has entertained millions of American and Canadian citizens while establishing itself in the fabric and history of the American Tented Circus. This will be the First year that Kelly Miller Circus brings their event to the City of Aurora

DISCUSSION:
The applicant has provided the required insurance document, a copy of the event layout, Carnival application, Security requirement application and Entertainment Form, Application Fee, Food and Beverage Tax Registration, Assembly Operational Permit Application, Letter of Permission from Property Owner, Restoration/Performance Bond, and Health Department Certificate.
City Staff (Fire Prevention, Police Department, Law Department and the City Clerk's office) will work closely with them to ensure additional requirements are met prior to the issuance of a license.
Additionally, as required by the State of Illinois, all operators, attendants and assistants will be appropriately screened, and a list of these employees will be provided to the office of the City Clerk prior to the event.
