SUBJECT:
A Resolution to award the 2020 Storm Sewer Extensions and Replacement project to Performance Construction & Engineering, LLC, 217 W. John Street, Plano, IL 60545 in the amount of two hundred and sixty-seven thousand, seven hundred and fifty-five dollars and zero cents ($267,755.00) located in Wards 1, 5, 6, 7, & 9.

PURPOSE:
To extend or replace storm sewer at nine locations to address localized drainage issues at those locations. A location map is included as Exhibit A.

BACKGROUND:
Six of the nine locations were brought to the Engineering Division's attention by residents with drainage concerns. Four locations will address drainage issues in public Right-of-Way. These locations can be found at Ashton Court (Ward 9), Coach & Surrey Lane (Ward 5), Crestwood Drive (Ward 6), and Pierce Street (Ward 1). Two of the locations are a result of homeowners expressing a desire to connect a sump pump discharge and/or roof drains to the storm sewer system. Historically, the City has extended storm sewer to the property line when requested so residents are only responsible for improvements on private property. More specifically these locations include 280 Lakeview Drive (Ward 5) and 2975 Partridge Court (Ward 10).

The final three locations are related to maintenance of the existing infrastructure. The existing 24" corrugated metal pipe culvert on Hart Road approximately 1,300' Butterfield Road (Ward 1) has deteriorated and requires replacement with reinforced concrete pipe. The bottom of the existing metal pipe has rusted out and is no longer in place. Due to the lack of an adequate detour route, a complete road closure will not be allowed during the replacement of this culvert.

The existing outfall of the two stormwater management basins located between Saratoga Drive and Vaughn Circle in Ward 7 is very difficult to maintain due to the periodically submerged...
