Three Fires Council Foxfire District is requesting permission to have an Archery and BB Gun Range at its Cub Scout Day Camp, proposed to be held at Phillips Park from July 13, 2014 to July 18, 2014 from 7:00am to 8:30pm.

PURPOSE:
The Three Fires Council Foxfire District Scouts are requesting permission to hold a day camp to promote the scouting program.
BACKGROUND:
The scouts have been holding the day camp over the past twenty years and 11 years have been at the park. Past attendance has been 100-150 participants with an expectation to be in the 150-200 participant range this year.
DISCUSSION:
The event organization is responsible for all costs associated with holding the day camp. Specific attention needs to be placed on the request that there be an archery and BB gun range at the camp and how this is juxtaposed with any City ordinances/codes relating to the proposed activity
IMPACT STATEMENT:
The organization is requesting use of an area on the Phillips Park grounds to hold the day camp and approval to have an Archery and BB Gun Range.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Please forward to the Government Operations Committee for consideration.
