SUBJECT:
An Ordinance Annexing Territory located at 1300 Prairie Street being south of Prairie Street and west of South Gladstone Avenue to the City of Aurora, Illinois 60506 ( - 16-00848 / AU29/2-16.136-A - ES - Ward 4)
PURPOSE:
The Petitioner, Scott Vernon, is requesting the annexation of 0.23 acres located at 1300 Prairie Street being south of Prairie Street and west of South Gladstone Avenue. The details of the proposal include the annexation of the property and the connection to City water from a water main available on Prairie Street.
BACKGROUND:
The Subject Property is located at 1300 Prairie Street and is currently utilized as a single family dwelling. The property is currently out of the City but it is located within the City of Aurora's boundary agreement jurisdiction.
DISCUSSION:
Staff has reviewed the Annexation petition and have sent comments back to the petitioner on those submittals. The petitioner has made the requested revisions to these documents and they now meet the applicable codes and ordinances.
POLICIES AND GUIDELINES :
The Staff's Evaluation and Recommendation are based on the following Physical Development Policies:
11.0 To guide the growth of the City in an orderly and structured manner.
11.1(5) To guide and promote development to areas where public utilities, public roads and municipal services are either available or planned.
11.1(3) To encourage new development contiguous to existing development.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff would recommend APPROVAL of the Ordinance Annexing Territory located at 1300 Prairie Street being south of Prairie Street and west of South Gladstone Avenue to the City of Aurora, Illinois 60506
