I am forwarding to you a resolution that would appoint two new members and reappoint four current members to the Aurora Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board.

Appoint to the Aurora Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board:
Raquel Tamer
Josie Alcarez Tanksley

Reappoint to the Aurora Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board:
Hector Ochoa
Maria del Carmen Tinajero
Dalila Alegria

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and

WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and

WHEREAS, vacancies currently exist on the Aurora Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board; and

WHEREAS, the terms of Hector Ochoa, Maria del Carmen Tinajero and Dalila Alegria have expired and all members wish to continue serving; and

WHEREAS, it is the Mayor's desire that Raquel Tamer and Josie Alcarez Tanksley be appointed and Hector Ochoa, Maria del Carmen Tinajero and Dalila Alegria be reappointed to said Board.
