TO: Mayor Robert J. O'Connor

FROM: John Gilbert Deputy Fire Chief

DATE: March 22, 2017

SUBJECT:
Request to purchase dress/ work uniform clothing from Ray O'Herron Company.

PURPOSE:
Johno's Main Surplus received the lowest bid for dress/work uniforms with Bid 15-53 for 2016-2018. Johno's Main Surplus is currently in the process of ceasing operations and no longer able to fulfill our contract. Requesting to continue dress/ work uniforms with the 2nd lowest bid, Ray O'Herron Company. A 3rd bid was received from Today's Uniforms Inc. Elgin Il.

BACKGROUND:
Johno's Main Surplus had received the bid 15-53 for dress/work uniforms for 2016-2018. With Johno's Main Surplus in the process of ceasing operations, to maintain our dress/ work uniform operations, asking for the 2nd lowest bidder Ray O'Herron Company for 2017-2018.

DISCUSSION:
This would have no financial implications or cost to the city. The funds are available in account number 101-3033-422.20-20. The purchase order for Johno's Main Surplus would be terminated as a purchase order would be established for Ray O'Herron Company. The current vendor has no outstanding debt with the city.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
This would have no impact to the General Public or any other departments.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Finance committee approval to authorize the 2nd lowest bidder Ray O'Herron to continue the dress/work uniforms account for purchases for the Aurora Fire Department.
