A Parking Study for E. Pleasure Court in the 500 block. Ward 4, Alderman Donnell
body
PURPOSE:
To review Parking Regulations for E. Pleasure Court in the 500 block.
BACKGROUND:
The roadway is a narrow 24.5-ft in width. Last year, parking restrictions were imposed to One-Side-of-Street Parking only. Now, parking is very tight, especially on S Pleasure Court, which is closest to West Side High School.
DISCUSSION:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 113050 expressing concern that street parking was very limited, especially during school days. The Resident suggested further parking restrictions, to include Both-Sides-of-the-Street-No-Parking during school hours. The continued restriction of justifiable on-street parking would only relocate the parking issues to another location. The School District is in the process of expanding on-site parking which will do a better job of addressing the issue.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No action recommended.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends denial.
