SUBJECT:title
A Traffic Study for Molitor Road approaching Diehl Road. Ward 1, Alderman Bohman.
body
PURPOSE:
To determine the volume of truck traffic on Molitor Road from Selmarten Road to the beginning of Diehl Road.
BACKGROUND:
An E-mail was sent to Eric J. Gallt, City Traffic Engineer, requesting a better way to alert tractor-trailer trucks that they are not allowed to exit their industrial complexes by going west on Molitor Road to Farnsworth Avenue. .
DISCUSSION:
About 47 to 50 tractor-trailer trucks per-day travel west towards the NO TRUCK ZONE on Molitor Road, stretching from Farnsworth Avenue to Diehl Road. A better way is needed to alert tractor-trailer trucks that they are not allowed to exit their industrial complexes by going west on Molitor Road to Farnsworth Avenue.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations will need to install the truck signage (designed and located by the City Traffic Engineer.)
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends 'No Truck' standard signage for westbound Diehl Road at McKesson Street.
