SUBJECT: title
An Ordinance authorizing the modification of the existing T-Mobile lease for tower colocation at 1325 West Indian Trail.  This lease modification is required to allow for the move of their equipment from the City of Aurora water tower to the City owned communication monopole on the same site.
body
PURPOSE:
The Indian Trail water tower has equipment mounted to it for several cellular carriers.  This water tower is scheduled to be repainted in 2014.  The painting process requires all carrier equipment to be removed from the water tower.  A monopole was added to this site to allow for the equipment move to be permanent.

BACKGROUND:
AT&T constructed the monopole on behalf of the City and has already moved their equipment. The City currently has 4 active leases for space on this water tower.  Our legal department is working with the other 2 carriers to facilitate the same move of their equipment.

DISCUSSION:
The terms of the existing T-Mobile lease have not changed.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
The modification of the existing lease allows the repainting of this tower to remain on schedule.  Requiring the move to be permanent  allows for a separation between cellular services and water department security needs.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
I would ask the members of the Finance Committee and of City Council to authorize acceptance of this lease modification for T-Mobile.
