body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for S. Russell Avenue in the 100 block to determine the need for installing parking restrictions.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted an E-mail (7/28/2016) expressing concern about the present parking arrangement on S. Russell Avenue in the 100 block, especially near the W. Galena Blvd. intersection.
DISCUSSION:
Street is classified neighborhood residential. The speed limit is set at 25 mph. Width is the standard 29.5 ft. There is Yellow Curb at the intersection with W. Galena Blvd. City ordinance allows for restriction of parking to one side for streets less than 31-feet. Government Operations has taken the approach to require petition of this type of restriction by the entirety of the effected street segment. While staff recommends denial at this time, restriction will be reconsidered based on submitted petition.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No action at this time.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends no action at this time.
