SUBJECT:title
A Traffic Study for Vicksburg Lane at Amber Fields Park. Ward 9, Alderman Bugg
body
PURPOSE:
Inventory NO PARKING signage adjacent to Amber Fields Park on Vicksburg Lane to justify whether more signage is necessary.
BACKGROUND:
Alderman Bugg submitted ACR Case ID 93597 stating that illegally parked cars had received tickets. Ticketed individuals complained that there were not sufficient NO PARKING THIS SIDE signage on the West side of Vicksburg Lane adjacent to Amber Fields Park, especially during heavy parking for activities in the park. Officer Pete Inda stated that additional signage would be helpful.
DISCUSSION:
An inspection revealed there are many NO PARKING signs north of the park, about 100 to 150-ft apart. But there are only two NO PARKING signs adjacent to the park, stretching more than 400-ft. The northernmost sign is at the northern edge of the park. The southernmost sign reads: NO PARKING THIS SIDE ENDS. Two additional NO PARKING signs should suffice at an average spacing of 135 feet.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations will be require to install two NO PARKING signs.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Install two additional NO PARKING THIS SIDE at approximately 135 foot spacing.
