SUBJECT:
An Ordinance Amending the Ward 2 Budget for Fiscal Year 2025.
PURPOSE:
To obtain the City Council's approval of a proposed amendment to the 2025 Ward 2 budget.
BACKGROUND:
The Wurst Kitchen, which first opened in Aurora in 1895, is looking to do a fa?ade update that includes modernizing the front entry area to the business. Total costs for improvements will be around $35,000 and the business owner has already given a down payment to begin the work of $7,000. The work is scheduled to be completed before the end of the year.
DISCUSSION:
The budget amendment of $10,000 will be made from the Ward 2 Fund Balance. This amount will be placed into account 312-1350-419.50-50. The check will be made out directly to the Wurst Kitchen.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
By assisting with needed awning and window improvements, this grant invests in a business that has been a cornerstone of the community for over 100 years.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
That the City Council adopt the proposed ordinance that would effect the 2025 Ward 2 Budget.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
