SUBJECT:title
A Traffic Study for Station Blvd and the Lehigh Station community for the installation of Pedestrian Crosswalk signage.  Ward 10, Alderman Johnson
body
PURPOSE:
To determine the location of existing Pedestrian Crosswalks and the possibility of Pedestrian Crossing signage at specific locations.

BACKGROUND:
A resident submitted an E-mail expressing concern over the lack of Pedestrian Crossing signage on Station Blvd running through the entire Lehigh Station subdivision area.

DISCUSSION:
The crosswalks along Station Blvd from E. Liberty Street running south to Gabrielle Lane are in-pavement brick.  There are six pedestrian intersections of this type along Station Blvd.  There is no pedestrian crossing signage at any of the crosswalks.  Staff recommends standard pedestrian crossing signs at each crosswalk.   Staff does not recommend in road signage at this time.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations will be required to install approximately ten pedestrian crossing signs.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends approval of MUTCD standard pedestrian crossing signage at each crosswalk.
