TO: Mayor John Laesch
FROM: Jeff Schmidt, Superintendent of Golf Operations
DATE: September 2, 2025
SUBJECT:
A Resolution authorizing the purchase of golf course patio furniture and portable bar from Sister Bay Furniture Co. using the TIPS-USA cooperative contract for $67,586.10 from the Golf Operations Fund.
PURPOSE:
To ensure that the City's Golf Division has adequate patio furniture to provide comfort and portable bar to service golf patrons.
BACKGROUND:
The picnic tables currently located on the patio of the golf course do not provide comfort and are aesthetically unappealing to golf course patrons. The lack of a portable bar creates an inconvenience for the golf patrons who must make their purchase from inside the golf clubhouse. The upgraded patio furniture will provide comfort, shade and appeal to the golf course patrons. When hosting special events, the addition of the portable bar will allow the food and beverage operations to serve customers remotely with the use of an iPad for sales that is networked with the golf course POS System.
DISCUSSION:
The City participates in TIPS-USA for the purchase of patio furniture and food and beverage equipment. This program bids patio furniture and portable bars for purchase, which allows the City to satisfy our own bidding process with less effort, and use greater purchasing power to obtain lower prices.
Sister Bay Furniture Co. is a reputable patio furniture manufacturer who offers both residential and commercial patio furniture that is built for longevity.
In order to secure delivery in the fall of 2025, the Golf Division is requesting authorization to place the order for all patio furniture and portable bar from Sister Bay Furniture Co. for $67,586.10 using TIPS-USA cooperative contract #250303.
The purchase of patio furniture and portable bar is an approved decision package for 2025 and funds to satisfy the procurement costs are allocated in account 550-4442-451.6141.
