PURPOSE:
The petitioner, Copley Memorial Hospital, Inc., is proposing a building addition to the Cancer Center to house a 2nd linear accelerator for treatment purposes. The addition requires that the existing helicopter pad be relocated approximately 30 feet to the west. This relocation is within an existing staff parking lot.

BACKGROUND:
This Administrative Review petition was referred by the City Council to the Planning Division on August 13, 2013.

DISCUSSION:
Development Proposal: The petitioner has proposed an addition to the existing Cancer Center at Copley Memorial Hospital. The addition is to house a new linear accelerator to support the treatment of those in the community with various cancer diagnoses. The location of the building addition is within the landing area of the existing helicopter pad on the west side of the hospital. This will necessitate the relocation of the existing pad approximately 30 feet to the west.

Evaluation: Staff has reviewed the Administrative Review Petition and the associated permits involved. Staff has determined that the proposed addition is in keeping with the previously approved Master Plan for the hospital campus.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
The Planning and Zoning Division does not anticipate any impact to other City Departments with the approval of this Petition.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
The proposal has been reviewed and approved by staff no action is required of the Committee.
