SUBJECT:
Resolution Authorizing Execution of Supplemental Motor Fuel Tax Resolutions for Sections 13-00000-00-GM and 14-00-00000-00-GM.

PURPOSE:
To appropriate additional Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) Funds related to snow removal operations for FYs 2013 and 2014.

BACKGROUND:
The City of Aurora appropriated MFT funds in the amount of $720,440 and $941,750 for FY 2013 and FY 2014 respectively. In 2013 the Street Division spent a total of $1,047,762.80 creating an appropriation shortfall of $327,322.75. In 2014 the Street Division spent a total of $1,320,313.40 on snow removal operations, also creating an appropriation shortfall in the amount of $378,563.35.

DISCUSSION:
In accordance with the Illinois Department of Transportation's Bureau of Local Roads and Streets, the Local Public Agency is required to adopt a Supplemental Resolution if the actual cost of maintenance exceeds the total amount of MFT funds appropriated

IMPACT STATEMENT:
There will be no negative impact associated with these appropriations as these projects are completed and no additional funds will be spent.
