A Parking Study for Lakeside Drive in the 2200 block. Ward 8, Alderman Mervine.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Lakeside Drive in the 2200 block on the curve to determine the need for parking restrictions.
BACKGROUND:
A resident submitted PS # 3410148 expressing concern about traffic flow on the curve from the beginning of the curve at 2240 to the end of the curve near 2270 Lakeside Drive.
DISCUSSION:
Lakeside Drive is a residential roadway with a 25 mph speed limit. Field checks revealed parking on both sides of Lakeside Drive, within the curve (2240 to 2270 Lakeside Drive). The width of road is a narrow 26', leaving approximately 14 feet to accommodate two-way traffic flow within the curve. Prohibiting parking on the inside of the curve would improve traffic flow.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations would be responsible for installing and maintaining the No Parking This Side signage.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installing No Parking This Side signage on the inside of the curve; from the beginning of the curve at 2240 to the end of the curve near 2270 Lakeside Drive.
