Ordinance Authorizing the Sale of approx. the northernly 67 feet of City Real Estate Lot 4 (except the approx. south 50 feet thereof) Located at Aurora, Illinois. Permanent Index No.: Part of 15-18-454-036.
PURPOSE:
This Ordinance will authorize the sale of approx. the northernly 67 feet of City Real Estate Lot 4. (Located at, Aurora, Illinois commonly known as 530 Linda Ct., part of parcel number 15-18-454-036 036.) The City seeks to sell the property to Marywood Housing L.L.C, who owns the property directly north of the area to be sold (560 Linda Ct.). The property will be sold for ten dollars ($10.00). The City will retain the southern portion of the parcel (sidewalk and street) for roadway purposes.
BACKGROUND:
In June 2001 the City of Aurora purchased the property at 530 Linda Ct, Aurora, Illinois for consideration in the amount of ten dollars ($10.00). The property contains a small "tot-lot" neighborhood park. The property is currently exempt from real estate taxes. The lot is to be split and sold to the adjoining land-owner (Marywood Housing LLC).
DISCUSSION:
City has made this type of arrangement before with adjacent owners in order to dispose of vacant City-owned lots and surplus property.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
The sale of this property will save the City in annual mowing and maintenance costs.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Place on C.O.W. for approval to City Council
