Authorization to Advertise for Bids - 6" Portable Pump

PURPOSE:

To obtain authorization to advertise for bids for a new 6" portable pump for the Water and Sewer Division. Historically, Water and Sewer Maintenance has maintained a total of six 6" pumps. Two of the six pumps are no longer useable and have been disposed of.

 

The pumps are used to alleviate flooding issues during major rain events. The pumps are also needed in order to temporarily pump sanitary sewage during lift station and sanitary sewer maintenance activities and during system failures. 

 

The cost estimate for a new 6" pump as specified in the attached bidding documents is approximately $50,000.00. A portion of the funding for this purchase is provided in the 2017 budget in account no. 510-4063-511-63-41 ( Water and Sewer Fund). A budget transfer will be processed to fully fund the purchase after bids are received.
