PURPOSE:
A Traffic Study for Fourth Avenue and Bevier Place, to determine if a change in traffic control, for the intersection, is necessary.
BACKGROUND:
Alderman Mesiacos received a request for the installation of a stop sign, for the Bevier Place approach to 4th Avenue.
DISCUSSION:
Bevier Place and 4th Avenue are classified as a residential roadways, 22 and 25 feet in width respectively, with a 25 mph speed limit. There is no existing traffic control sign for the intersection. A pedestrian crosswalk exists on the north leg of the intersection. There is a street light on the south side of the intersection.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Street Department resources.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installing a stop sign for the Bevier Place approach to 4th Avenue.
