Requesting approval to stage the City of Aurora's annual 4th of July Parade to be held on Friday, July 4th at 10:00 am.

PURPOSE:
This annual event unties the citizens of Aurora in celebration of our countries independence.
BACKGROUND:
The parade is coordinated thought he Special Events division. The pre-parade program will take place at the reviewing stand located on Galena, directly in front of the Paramount Theatre at 9:15 am. The parade will then step off from the corner of Benton and River at precisely 10:00 am.
DISCUSSION:
The event is budgeted for in account 101-1341-450.53-01. A portion of the expenses are being shared with the parade sponsor, the Roosevelt American Legion Post 84.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Support from the following departments/divisions is requested: APD, EMA, Public Information, Streets, Electrical, MVPS, Downtown Maintenance and Water & Sewer. This is to facilitate street closures, site set-up and tear-down and provide for public safety.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be approved and forwarded to the Government Operations Committee.
