An Ordinance Amending the Ward 6 Budget for Fiscal Year 2026.
PURPOSE:
To obtain the City Council's approval of a proposed amendment to the 2026 Ward 6 budget
BACKGROUND:
The Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry, located in Ward 6, has purchased the property adjacent to its current location and is seeking financial assistance to cover unanticipated capital improvements and modifications. The total estimated cost of this project is between $70,000 and $80,000.
DISCUSSION:
The budget amendment will be funded from the Ward 6 fund balance. A total of $25,000 will be allocated to account 316-1350-419.50-50, which is designated for grants and donations. Up to $20,000 of the additional funds shall be used to reimburse the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry for capital improvements on the condition that the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry provide receipts or proof of payment before reimbursements are issued. The remaining $5,000 will remain in account 316-1350-419.50-50 to cover additional donations and grants for the rest of the year.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Supporting the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry is crucial for their ongoing mission to serve families in Aurora.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
That the City Council adopt the proposed ordinance that would affect the 2026 Ward 6 Budget
