SUBJECT:
A Resolution Authorizing Payment to Testing for Public Safety, LLC (dba IPSP) as the Provider of Services for 2019 Fire Department Promotional Testing.

PURPOSE:
To obtain authorization for payment to Testing for Public Safety for services rendered in 2019 for the Fire Department's promotional process.

BACKGROUND:
The City has utilized Testing for Public Safety, LLC (IPSP) for over twenty-one (21) years. IPSP works with our Public Safety departments to test candidates that are seeking to further their career through the promotional process. IPSP provides exceptional services and continues to be a dependable partner with the City.

DISCUSSION:
IPSP administered the 2019 promotional process testing to Fire Department Captain and Lieutenant candidates. Seventy-nine (79) promotional candidates went through the most recent selection process amounting to $29,500 in cost which exceeds the $25,000 threshold.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
That the City Council approve the resolution authorizing payment to Testing for Public Safety, LLC in the amount of $29,500.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and

WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
