PURPOSE:
KJ Multisport has requested permission to hold a duathlon (run and bike) race on Saturday, August 24, 2013 from 7:30 to 11:30 am. The event will be set up beginning at 5:30 am. Clean-up will be from 11:30-12:30. The event will benefit Blackberry Farms Low Income Programs. The dualthon consists of a 2 mile run on Barnes Road, a 20k bike ride, and a 2 mile run on the Gilman Trail.

DISCUSSION:
This is the first year for the event, and organizers expect 150 participants. The event will be managed by 15 volunteers/personnel. The registration fee is $50.00.
The 2 mile run goes south on Barnes Road and back. The 20k bike ride begins on Barnes Rd, continues east on Galena, and north on Hankes Road. The final 2 mile run is not on city property.
The event will be held rain or shine but canceled in the event of thunder.
The organizers will need Aurora Police Department Traffic assistance on Barnes Road and Galena Blvd.
