SUBJECT:
Ordinance authorizing the sale of the City Real Estate (LOT 17), located at Bishop Avenue, Aurora, Illinois, Permanent Index No.: 15-28-306-017

PURPOSE:
Attached is an Ordinance authorizing the sale of City real estate, Lot 17, commonly known as [vacant land] Bishops Avenue, with PIN 15-28-306-017, to Salvador C. Ramirez, Angela Ramirez and Salvador Ramirez, Jr., who own the property directly east of the area to be sold (921-923 Bishop Avenue). Under the terms of the proposed sale, Ramirez(es) will pay the City one dollar ($1.00) and consolidate the land with their current parcel. This sale includes all of said property PIN 15-28-306-017.

BACKGROUND:
The City of Aurora owns the vacant irregular shaped, less than 1/10th acre parcel. There are no structures on the property. The property is currently exempt from real estate taxes. The lot is to be given to the adjoining land owners (Ramirez) as legally described below:

LOT 17 IN BLOCK 25 OF SOUTH END ADDITION TO AURORA, IN THE CITY OF AURORA, KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS.

DISCUSSION:
The City has made this type of arrangement before with adjacent owners in order to dispose of vacant City-owned lots.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
Transfer of the property to the adjoining property owner will move parcel back to the City tax rolls and remove parcel from City Maintenance.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Place on Finance Committee Calendar (6/13/17 Agenda) for approval to City Council.
