SUBJECT:
A Resolution Authorizing an Agreement with H. Linden & Sons Sewer & Water, Inc. for the Rosewood and North Avenues Sanitary Service Replacement Project in the amount of one hundred twenty-four thousand, eight hundred fifty-five dollars ($124,855.00).

PURPOSE:
The sanitary service lines for residences at 301, 307, 311 and formerly 305 (now demolished) Rosewood currently drain to a manhole on the lot at 67 North Avenue, which then drains to the North Avenue sanitary sewer via a 6 inch sewer located on private property. This is considered an illegal connection according to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. Once two service lines merge into one sewer, the sewer should be a minimum of 8 inches, and is considered public.

BACKGROUND:
The residence at 67 North Avenue has experienced sewer back-ups due to the illegal configuration of the service lines connected to its sanitary service. The proposed construction of 4 new sanitary service lines will provide a legal and direct connection to the appropriate sanitary sewer for each property.

DISCUSSION:
The proposed Rosewood and North Avenues Sanitary Service Replacement Project will eliminate future sewer back-ups at 67 North Avenue and remove the existing illegal sanitary service configuration at the Rosewood properties to benefit the City's sanitary sewer system.

H. Linden & Sons Sewer & Water, Inc., of 722 East South Street, Unit D, Plano, Illinois, 60545 provided the lowest responsible bid out of seven (7) bidders, with a low bid of one hundred twenty-four thousand, eight hundred fifty-five dollars ($124,855.00). The attached Exhibit A shows the tabulation of the bids received.

This Project has funds available in project IB018 account 510-4063-511-73-14.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
The residences at 301, 307 and 311 Rosewood Avenue and 67 North Avenue will not experience a disr...
