SUBJECT:title
A Parking Study for 4th Avenue in the 500 Block. Ward 3, Alderman Mesiacos.
body
PURPOSE:
To determine the mitigation necessary to help prevent delivery trucks from blocking a Residents' driveway 509 4th Avenue.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR 104210 requesting help to prevent their driveway from being blocked by delivery trucks. Resident states that although the Supermarket next door is closed, it will reopen soon. Resident states that problems have been experienced when the Supermarket was open.
DISCUSSION:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 104210 complaining that their driveway was often blocked by trucks delivering to the corner market (at 4th Avenue and 5th Street). An inspection revealed that the Resident was next door to a corner market. The access for delivery is off 4th Avenue for the Supermarket. Limiting deliveries to 5th Street could be problematic.
A DO NOT BLOCK DRIVEWAY for the drive approach at 509 4th Avenue would appear to help resolve the problem.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations will install the sign.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installation of a DO NOT BLOCK DRIVEWAY sign for the drive approach of 509 4th Avenue.
