DATE: February 28, 2017

SUBJECT:
Resolution Establishing the Maximum Number of City of Aurora Liquor Licenses by Class.

PURPOSE:
To maintain the number of Class E - Full Menu Restaurant license for the number of Class E licenses at 46.

BACKGROUND:
This request is presented in accordance with the 2011 amendment to the City's Liquor Ordinance, specifically Section 6-9(a), which charges the City Council with the authority to determine the number of licenses available in each classification.

DISCUSSION:
Two Brothers Restaurant Group LLC, RH Series, d/b/a Two Brothers Roundhouse, located at 205 N. Broadway, has submitted a liquor license application for a Class E license for the purpose of selling to the general public alcoholic liquor by the drink for consumption on the premises only. The applicant currently has a Class E liquor license at the location, however, the ownership structure has changed from a corporation to a LLC. The members of the LLC have not changed.

Attached is the application submitted for your consideration. If approved, this resolution would increase the number of allowable liquor licenses as indicated in the accompanying Exhibit A to allow for the issuance of the licenses by the Commissioner. City staff has been working with the business representatives to ensure that all requirements for a liquor license, as set forth in Chapter 6 of the City's Code of Ordinances, are met.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
The proposed resolution presents an opportunity to further the City of Aurora's economic development.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
I am recommending that this resolution be referred to the March 14, 2017 meeting of the Government Operations Committee for consideration.
