PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for to install a Handicap parking space at149 S. Lasalle Street.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted PS # 2497984 requesting the installation of a Handicap parking space at149 S. Lasalle Street.
DISCUSSION:
S. Lasalle Street has unrestricted parking on either side. The roadway is a neighborhood residential, with a 25 mph speed limit. Width is a wide 36-ft. The entrance at the front of the building has five steps, plus one on the walkway from the curb and another leaving the sidewalk toward the house, as seen in the photo. Aside from room for three parking spaces on the front curb, the majority of parking spaces are located in the paved backyard of the multiplex. Parking in back is paved from north to nearly all the way south with at least two garages.
Staff recommends that the property owner have a handicap parking stall installed onsite.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends denial of on street parking but would encourage the property owner to provide an onsite handicap stall.
