PURPOSE:
To determine warrants for STOP signage at the intersection of Oakhill Drive/Palm Springs Lane/Peachtree Circle and intersections of Glen Eagle Drive with both Oak Hill Drive and Hamman Way.

BACKGROUND:
A resident requested the installation of four-way STOP signage at the above intersections due to an accident February of 2014 at Oak Hill Drive and Palm Springs Lane/Peachtree Circle.

DISCUSSION:
None of the intersections listed above have either Stop or Yield signage.   Traffic studies of side street traffic from Palm Springs Lane and Peachtree Circle indicate low residential volumes.  Additional counts were not done on Glen Eagle as the traffic volume was visibly less than Palm Springs Lane.   The crash history in the area is non-existent to sparse depending on the intersection.  Since the traffic volumes and crash history do not warrant an all way stop, lower level mitigation is recommended.   The recommendation is for stop signage on minor approaches only with cross traffic does not stop placards.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations will be required to install four STOP signs.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installation of two-way STOP signs on Peachtree Circle and Palm Springs Lane approaching Oakhill Drive and on Glen Eagle Drive at the approaches to Palm Springs Land and Hamman Way respectively.
