Light of the Heart is requesting approval to stage Art Jam at Millennium Plaza on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM

PURPOSE:
This is the fourth year for this fundraising event which is a celebration of the visual arts, art therapy and music.
BACKGROUND:
Light of the Heart is a registered not-for-profit organization located in downtown Aurora. Funds generated from Art Jam assist the organization in accomplishing their program goals throughout the year. LOTH provides art therapy and counseling to at-risk youth in Aurora.
DISCUSSION:
This is a free event and organizers are expecting to draw approximately 200 people. Scheduled activities include hands on art projects as well as teen bands performing in the gazebo.
The event will be held in conjunction with the October Frist Friday to capitalize on the downtown foot traffic.

City Services requested:
Downtown Maintenance: Millennium Plaza clean and lights operational
Electrical: All power in the gazebo accessible
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
