PURPOSE:
A Traffic Study for Seminary Avenue and LaSalle Street, to determine if a change in traffic control for the intersection is necessary.
BACKGROUND:
Resident submitted PS # 3997336, complaining LaSalle Street vehicles are not yielding to Seminary Avenue vehicles, poor compliance with yield sign control.
DISCUSSION:
LaSalle Street and Seminary Avenue are classified as a residential roadways, 29 feet in width, with a 25 mph speed limit. Existing intersection traffic control are yield signs for the LaSalle Street approaches to Seminary Avenue. Pedestrian crosswalks exist on all four legs of the intersection. There is a street light on the southeast corner of the intersection.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Street Department resources.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends replacing the existing yield signs with stop signs for the LaSalle Street approaches.
