Resolution Accepting the Bid from J & S Construction Sewer and Water, Inc., Oswego, Illinois in the Amount of $32,450.00 for the Demolition of the Building Located at 2501 Church, Aurora, Illinois

PURPOSE:
To authorize awarding a Contract to J&S Construction Sewer and Water, Inc., Oswego, Illinois, in the amount of $32,450 in order to demolish the building located at 2501 Church Road that is owned by the City of Aurora and located within the Aurora Corporate Jurisdiction.
BACKGROUND:
The City Council purchased this property earlier in the year for the expressed purpose of demolition.
The mandatory on-site walk through by prospective contractors was held on August 6th. The bid results are attached.
DISCUSSION:
After demolition, the property will be grassed open space. The accessory garage and off-street parking area will also be removed.
The property will be available for future road improvements to Bilter Road or for development purposes.
J& S Construction has completed several successful demolition projects for the City (35 N. River St., former Police Station, 625-7 South Lake Street).
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Funding source will be 215-1210-417-71.01 and adequate funds exist in this account.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Approval.
