Family Focus is requesting permission to stage Roots Aurora on Water Street Mall and Mundy Park on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.

PURPOSE:
Roots Aurora promotes and celebrates multicultural awareness in Aurora.
BACKGROUND:
This is the 6th year for this event and the third in this location.
DISCUSSION:
The event is being held in conjunction with First Fridays to capitalize on the attendance and create synergy. Past attendance has been 800 to 1,000 and organizers are hoping for 1,200 this year. A Music Festival Permit has been applied for and insurance is being supplied by the City through a Neighborhood Festival Funding Grant.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
City Services requested are:
Electrical: All available power on Water Street Mall and Mundy Park.
Downtown Maintenance: Assistance with trash containers and disposal if needed.
Fire Prevention and Revenue and Collections: Inspection of all food vendors for compliance.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
