The Fox Valley Garden Club is requesting permission to conduct their annual Aurora Gardener's Plant Sale on Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Aurora Transportation Center.

PURPOSE:
This event features plants grown and sold by local members and gardeners. There are also vendors selling garden themed crafts and accessories.
BACKGROUND:
This is the 19th year for this event sponsored by the Fox Valley Garden Club and the third year it has been held in conjunction with the Aurora Farmers Market Preview. More than 40+ vendors are once again expected to participate.
DISCUSSION:
Proceeds from the sale are used to sponsor horticultural beautification projects in the City of Aurora.
The organizers have applied for and received Neighborhood Festival Funding to offset a portion of their costs.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Assistance from the following departments is requested: Downtown Services, Water & Sewer, MVPS, Electrical, Risk Management and Special Events.
City services requested: Permission to use a portion of the ATC parking lot; four (4) "No Friday Overnight Parking" signs placed on Thursday, May 14th; six (6) cardboard trash bins; four (4) picnic tables; all available power; water hydrant hook-up with faucet; City of Aurora to cover event insurance; other equipment as needed.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be approved and forwarded to the Government Operations Committee.
