PURPOSE:
To establish the official hours of participation for door to door Halloween Trick or Treat activities.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Aurora has used the time frame of 4:00pm to 7:30pm as the official Halloween Trick or Treat hours door to door activities for many past years.
DISCUSSION:
The time frame of 4:00pm to 7:30pm is a near middle ground for official door to door Trick or Treat activities in Aurora since there are some surrounding cities/towns/villages that start before 4:00pm and end after 7:30pm. Once the hours are officially established, information and tips on safety can be provided to the public by City Departments and Divisions.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Increased vigilance for safety by the Aurora Police and Fire Departments for kids and families participating in Trick or Treat activities.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Please forward to the Government Operations Committee for review/approval.
