A Resolution appointing Robert Shemansky to the Building Code Board of Appeals.
DISCUSSION: The Building Code Board of Appeals is a five (5) member board tasked with hearing appeals to the Building Code. In addition, the board is involved in the review and adoption of International Code Council (ICC) series changes. The board is required to have registered professionals with experience in the fields of architecture, structural engineering, mechanical and plumbing, electrical engineering and fire protection.
Members of the Building Code Board of Appeals also serve on the Permanent Building and Fire Code Committee. The Permanent Building and Fire Code Committee's membership is comprised of members of both the Building and Fire Boards of Appeal.
Currently, there is a term available for appointment on the Building Code Board of Appeals.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is recommended Robert Shemansky's appointment be approved.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, there is currently a term available for appointment on the Building Code Board of Appeals; and
WHEREAS, it is the Mayor's desire that Robert Shemansky be appointed to the said board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, hereby approve the appointment of Robert Shemansky, North Aurora...
