body

PURPOSE:

This is the 16th year for this event which attracts anywhere from 500 to 1,500 people depending upon weather.  The event activities include a worship service, bike blessing, face painting, vendors, picnic and concert.

BACKGROUND:

There have been no issues associated with this event in its 15 year history.

A Music Festival Permit has been applied for and a Certificate of Insurance is attached.

DISCUSSION:

This is a long-standing event that draws from a large radius. There are no direct costs associated with this event and City staff time is minimal.  The organizers receive a portion of their funding through the City's Neighborhood Festival Funding grant program.

IMPACT STATEMENT:

Warehouse Church works directly with Dan Anderson from the Parks Department for any additional needs and to insure the bikes and vehicles are not allowed on the grassy areas near the root areas of the trees.

No street closures are necessary for this event.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
