SUBJECT:title

A Parking Study for the 30-50 block of S. Lincoln Avenue.  Ward 2, Alderman Garza.

body

PURPOSE:

A Parking Study for the 30-50 block of S. Lincoln Avenue to determine warrants for Parking Restrictions in front of the Car Repair shop.

BACKGROUND:

A Business Owner submitted ACR Case ID 128939 requesting parking regulations so that the front of his business at 32 S Lincoln Avenue would not be blocked by parked cars.

DISCUSSION:

The entire frontage of 32 S Lincoln Avenue is "drive approach" rather than curb and gutter.  Because their business involves vehicles, the all paved frontage should not be out of the ordinary.  The Owner reports vehicles are parking there nonetheless, impeding vehicles from having ready access to and from the garages.

IMPACT STATEMENT:

Operations will be responsible for the installation.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Staff recommends installation of a sign NO PARKING FROM CORNER TO HERE to CORNER be placed on the north end of the mechanics property drive approach.
