SUBJECT: title
Traffic Study Request for No Parking Signage at Intersection of Commons Drive and Boulder Ct - Ward 8 Alderman Mervine
body
PURPOSE:
A traffic request to determine the appropriateness of parking restrictions at the intersection of Commons Drive and Boulder Ct
BACKGROUND:
ACR Case ID 74197 was issued by a resident in this area requesting 'no parking her to corner signs on at the intersection of Commons Drive and Boulder Ct. The resident referenced safety concerns due to cars parking all the way to the intersection.
DISCUSSION:
The area is heavily parked on weekends and evenings. The surrounding land use is mid density housing that is subject to increased on street parking. While we have not seen an accident history that would cause concern, it is the practice of the City to limit parking on the approach to intersections to provide proper sight visibility.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations would be responsible to install four 'no parking here to corner' signs.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommendation is to approve request for 'no parking here to corner' 30 feet beyond curb line on both the north and south side of Boulder Ct and on both the north and south portion of the western side of Commons Drive.
