SUBJECT:
A Resolution reappointing Shanita Anderson, Linda Cole and Margaret Truax as At-Large members, School District 129 representative Mark Engen and School District 204 representative Rose Smilgys to the Aurora Planning Commission.

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this memo is to recommend the reappointments of five (5) members of the Aurora Planning Commission.

DISCUSSION:
The Aurora Planning Commission is a thirteen (13) member commission comprised of At-Large Citizens and representatives of the following entities: Fox Valley Park District, Aurora Township, School Districts 129, 131 and 204 and the Sanitary District. There are currently expired terms on the Commission, the members are all in good standing and wish to continue to serve.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council approve the reappointments of Shanita Anderson, Linda Cole, Margaret Truax, Mark Engen and Rose Smilgys to the Aurora Planning Commission.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and

WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and

WHEREAS, there are currently expired terms on the Aurora Planning Commission; and

WHEREAS, it is the Mayor's desire that the recommended candidates be reappointed to said ...
