Requesting approval for Aurora Downtown to have a Music Festival as part of their 2017 Stolp Island Block Party Festival event to be held on Stolp Avenue (between Galena & Downer) on August 4th and September 1st, 2017.
PURPOSE:
Aurora Downtown, located at 43 W Galena Blvd., will be holding a Stolp Island Block Party on Friday, August 4th, 2017 and Friday, September 1st, 2017. As part of this event, Aurora Downtown would like to have live musical entertainment, which requires City Council approval prior to the issuance of a permit
BACKGROUND:
This event will include four musical groups, food, and games.
DISCUSSION:
Our office has received a complete application for this event and the Security requirement application. Aurora Downtown has also submitted an application for an assembly operational permit, and an inspection of the site will be conducted prior to the event.
The event will take place between Galena & Downer on Stolp Avenue. The hours of operations for the Festival will be from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and the music will be played from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is my recommendation that this item be referred to the Government Operations Committee.
