PURPOSE:
The Nico Foundation: Bringing hope and support to families in times of crisis. Empowering children through knowledge and awareness to succeed in their choices for a better tomorrow.
 
BACKGROUND:
The walk will begin at 6pm from 3 separate locations:
St. Joseph Catholic Church, 722 High Street
St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 308 High Street
Our Lady of Good Counsel, 620 5th Street
All participants will meet at McCarty Park, East New York St. and West Park Pl. to join voices for one common goal.
 
DISCUSSION:
This is the first time for this event which could have a positive impact on the community.  The city is working with the event organizers to get additional information and documentation.  A Special Event Permit application has not been submitted.  The application process includes a completed application, signed waiver and a certificate of insurance.  It is anticipated that all required documents will be provided before the GO Committee meeting.  A representative of the Nico Foundation will be present at the GO meeting to address any questions.
 
 
IMPACT STATEMENT:
This event will have a minimal impact on city services.   
 
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Approval is recommended contingent upon submittal of a Special Event Permit and a Certificate of Insurance.
