The Fox Valley Garden Club is requesting permission to conduct their annual Aurora Gardeners' Plant Sale on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Aurora Transportation Center. Final approval is requested by February 25, 2014.

PURPOSE:
This event features plants grown and sold by local members and vendors selling plants, garden crafts and accessories.
BACKGROUND:
The Fox Valley Garden Club has been doing this event for the past 18 years. This is the second consecutive year it will be staged at the Aurora Transportation Center. More than 40+ vendors are expected to participate in this year's event.
DISCUSSION:
Proceeds from the sale are used to sponsor horticultural beautification projects in the City of Aurora.
Assistance from the following departments is requested: Downtown Services; Water & Sewer; MVPS; Streets; Electrical, Risk Management and Special Events.
The organizers have applied for Neighborhood Festival Funding to offset a portion of their costs.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
City Services Requested: Permission to use a portion of the ATC parking lot; four (4) "No Friday Overnight Parking" signs placed on Thursday, May 15th; six (6) cardboard trash bins; four (4) picnic tables; signage placed at Wilder Promenade and on Broadway two weeks prior to event; two (2) banners from the sign shop; all available power; water hydrant hook-up with faucet; City of Aurora to cover event insurance; other equipment/items as needed.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Requesting Government Operations approval for the 19th annual Aurora Gardeners' Plant Sale to take place on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Aurora Transportation Center from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm."
