Title: A Traffic Study on Pineland Ct for Parking regulation signage. Ward 8, Alderman Mervine
Sponsors: Public Works
TO:      Mayor Thomas J. Weisner

FROM:      Eric J. Gallt, City Traffic Engineer

DATE:      December 31, 2013

SUBJECT: title
A Traffic Study on Pineland Ct for Parking regulation signage.  Ward 8, Alderman Mervine
body
PURPOSE:
To determine the appropriate Parking regulation signage on Pineland Ct.

.

BACKGROUND:
A resident submitted ACR Case ID 82460 expressing concern about the lack of parking signage on Pineland Court.  The resident maintains that appropriate parking restrictions would allow "snow plows and street sweepers to come by and clean properly."

DISCUSSION:
Pineland Court has a normal street width allowing two-way traffic if parking is allowed on only one side of the street.  Not too much two-way traffic is expected as the Court has only eleven residences.  Parking during snow plowing operations is already prohibited, regardless of the street width.   Parking restrictions are already in place Citywide during snowfall events.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
No action is recommended at this time.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends denial.
