Sacred Heart Church is requesting permission to conduct the "Live Stations of the Cross" procession on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

PURPOSE:
The purpose is to celebrate Good Friday with the community.
BACKGROUND:
This event has been a church tradition for 25 years, attracts more than 2,500 participants and is held rain or shine. The organizers work with the Aurora Police Department on traffic control and public safety. There is no past history of issues relating to this event.
DISCUSSION:
The requested processional route begins at 771 Fulton (church parking lot) heads west to Union Street, north to Liberty and ends at St. Nicholas Church. This route has been used successfully for a number of years.
There are 200 volunteers to assist with staging.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Police assistance is required as deemed necessary by the Aurora Police Department.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
