SUBJECT:title
A Parking Study for Savoy Court. Ward 9, Alderman Bugg.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Savoy Court to determine the warrant for additional parking regulations.
BACKGROUND:
Resident submitted PS # 2737781 expressing concern for parking on Savoy Court between Montrose Drive and Halsted Lane. Caller stated that parking on both sides of Savoy Court causes traffic congestion.
DISCUSSION:
Savoy Court is a residential roadway with a 25 mph speed limit. The roadway width is the city standard 29.5-ft. Parking on both sides, for this section of Savoy Court, does reduce the available traveled way to 14 feet, which does present challenges to accomodating two-way traffic flow.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations would be responsible for installing signage.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installing "NO PARKING THIS SIDE" signage for the north side of Savoy Court between Montrose Drive and Halsted Lane.
